The toilet…the item in the household most people dread cleaning. Lemon Juice: lemon juice is an amazing food item for cleaning and it also works for your toilet! Why? Lemon contains citric acid which helps break down stains and remove mineral deposits. Simply squeeze a lemon into the toilet bowl and use a toilet brush to scrub before flushing.

Baking Soda & Vinegar: we talk a lot about baking soda and vinegar for cleaning – and with good reason! For your toilet, this combination helps break down stains and remove odors. First, mix the two together to form a foaming mixture. Then, pour into your toilet bowl and use a toilet brush to scrub. Finally, let everything sit for a few minutes before flushing.

Castile Soap: castile soap is biodegradable and free of harsh chemicals. Mix castile soap with water (follow the instructions on the package) and then clean the outside of your toilet bowl, basin, seat and lid.

Toilet Bombs: similar to a bath bomb but to clean your toilet, mix together baking soda, citric acid, and your favorite essential oil. Roll into balls and let dry. Once the balls have dried, drop one into your toilet bowl, let it sit for a few minutes and fizz, and then scrub away.

Essential Oils: to make this cleaning task more fun, smell good and add even more cleaning power, add a few drops of essential oils such as lavender, eucalyptus, or tea tree oil to the above cleaning methods.
