If you’ve read our blogs before or visited our Why Us page, you already know how concerned we are about the use of harsh chemicals and how they may impact our bodies.
Cleaning 4 Kids
What you may not know is that we founded a new non-profit dedicated to providing one monthly cleaning for free to families with a child in cancer treatment – Cleaning 4 Kids.
Parents experience concern when they must prepare their home for a child’s return during chemotherapy treatments. They want to be sure that their son or daughter does not get an infection or have other problems when they come home and are immune compromised.
We’ve heard from some cancer survivors that they became especially sensitive to the smell of harsh chemicals while they were being treated. Parents want to be sure they properly prepare their home for a child during chemotherapy treatments. They want to ensure that their son or daughter does not get an infection or have other problems when they come home and are immune compromised. Our cleaning teams are honored to provide an alternative to these families through the use of organic, non-toxic products and steam cleaning techniques.
In an AARP post, debunking myths about green cleaning, hygiene expert Donna Duberg, assistant professor of clinical laboratory science at Saint Louis University, indicates that simple white vinegar is very effective at killing E. coli, salmonella and shigella bacteria. “It’s good for nearly everything — from soaking the vegetables to washing the floors,” she says. “Mix it with enough baking soda to make a paste and you’ll get the scum out of your bathroom,” she is quoted as saying.
Our teams clean homes without exposing families to harsh chemicals found in commercial cleaning products. Products that can irritate skin, eyes and lungs.
Organic Cleaning Supreme is providing the cleaning services for free to families with a child in cancer treatment and 10% of all regular cleaning fees that are earned through Organic Cleaning Supreme, are donated directly to Cleaning 4 Kids.
We are honored when a family invites us into their home. Just being a strong support for a child during the diagnosis and treatment can be exhausting for a family. The last thing parents want to worry about is whether their home is safe. We can help them with that.
We wanted to be sure our community is aware of this free service and we are asking you to help us reach more families in Marin County who have a child in cancer treatment who might benefit from our free housecleaning. We are working with Okizu to reach more families and we are interested in hearing from you, if you know of someone who could benefit from our free services. We invite you to visit the website and please help us spread the word!
