The kitchen sink often serves as a centerpiece of the house – and gets a lot of use! Today we share a recipe to keep your sink clean using green and organic ingredients.
Ingredients
- Baking Soda
- Vinegar
- Lemon
- Dish Soap – choose an eco-friendly option
- Sponge or Microfiber Cloth
- Small Scrub Brush (an old toothbrush works great!)
- Reusable Cleaning Cloth or Paper Towel
- Olive Oil
Recipe
- Make sure your sink area is clear of any dishes.
- Give the sink a warm water rinse to remove any lingering food scraps.
- Sprinkle Baking Soda all over the sink surface. This will help remove dirt and grime.
- Use a microfiber cloth or sponge to scrub the sink. For stubborn areas and corners, use an old toothbrush.
- Rinse the sink with warm water again.
- Slice a lemon in half and rub the cut side of the lemon along the sink’s surface. This will help any lingering odors dissipate.
- Fill a spray bottle with equal amounts of water and vinegar. Spray the sink with this solution and let it sit for a few minutes, This will disinfect and remove any mineral deposits.
- Rinse the sink with warm water again.
- Use the cleaning cloth or paper towel to dry the sink.
- Put a small amount of the eco-friendly dish soap on a damp cloth. Rub into the sink. This will remove any remaining residue and grease.
- Put a small amount of olive oil on a damp cloth and rub it all over the sink’s surface. This will help with any water drops and also give your sink a nice shine.
